Amy's Schedule

Amy Steinberg

"Singular" best describes Amy Steinberg. Uplifting, enlightening, and hilarious with a voice that can burn the house down, Amy is a singer, songwriter and storyteller like none other. Her work marries the sacred and profane, fusing the dreamlike nature of Spirit with the rooted realness of sexuality and humor. She plays the piano and guitar with her own swingy rhythmic bounce, injecting shades of jazz, rock, hip hop, and poetry, all with a theatrical flair. Deeply soulful with her bombastic belt, she sings songs of self-love, open-mindedness, and the holiness of everything.

Born outside Boston, Amy moved to Florida at a young age and began studying music and theater at age four. It was while Amy toured with the musical, Hair, in Europe that she discovered her love for singing rock and soul music.

In 1999, while in college in Orlando, Florida, she feverishly began writing her own songs and formed the Amy Steinberg Band. In 2001, Amy spent the summer in New York City and went through a “dark night of the soul”  when the devastation of 9-11 rocked her to her core. The experience fueled her need to make intense life changes. Amy went solo, traveling nationwide spreading love and laughter, meeting thousands of people and making fans the old fashioned way. While traveling, she found New Thought Spirituality and was once again blown apart on the inside, challenged to look closely at her consciousness. She soon became music/choir director at the Boca Center for Spiritual Living and began taking classes and learning everything she could about this intense, life-changing movement. From there, she moved to North Carolina to serve as music director at the Spiritual Living Center of Charlotte. Deeply involved with the New Thought Music world, she plays at conferences, churches, and festivals throughout the country.  Her tenth independent release, "Broken Open,” is earning rave reviews.
